Holes in the feet

What causes holes in the webbing of a duckling's feet? He's about 10 days old. His feet wouldnt open up properly when he hatched and I had to separate him from the others. Their feet are fine, but he has holes in his. I put him back with the others today and he is so happy. He's walking fine and looks great other than his feet.

If I knew how to upload a pic here from my phone, I would.

Pictures would defiantly be beneficial in this case. Is there any way they could have gotten cut? Was he born this way?

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

He wasn't born like that. It's almost like his feet got too wet and fell apart. But, he's a duck, their feet are supposed to be wet...

I'll have to see if I can figure out how to post a pic from my phone.
