Poultry Lice???

Yesterday I noticed my rooster had barely noticable small white bugs crawling on his nose, ears, and face I've noticed brown bugs that I dont know what are on them and I dusted the chickens but I've never seen these before can someone tell me what they are and how to treat them???

I'm starting to Breed Giant Cochins, Speckled Sussex, Bantam Cochin, and Black Australorp, will have chicks as soon as the incubator starts working!!

Hi and welcome-byc.gif from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. They are probably mites and lice. You should clean the coop out and put seven dust everywhere especially any cracks. I would give the chickens a bath with a flea shampoo. Just be careful on the face. thumbsup.gif

We have FFA fair Monday If treated tommorow should most be gone??

Hello and welcome to BYC frow.gif Glad you joined us! Lice usually get going very soon after you dust them, so hopefully they won't be noticeable by Monday.
