So, I bought a little pekin bantam a few days ago, and then another from the same person to keep her/him company. One is meant to be a lemon, hatched from eggs they bought online annnd the other is meant to be a black/black splash, hatched from their own chickens.
Now, the little "lemon" one, has black bits, white bits, buff bits. And the "black" one, has black bits, white bits, golden/buff bits and grey bits. Its also, sort of stripey on its feathers, almost like a cuckoo pekin. But I won't hope for such luck lol. Also, check out the fluffy legs on the black one, so cute! :D
They are only young, 3 weeks old. Ive never had chicks this young before, my youngest was 8 weeks. So they're currently living in my bedroom, which is delightful as Im sure you can all imagine.
Will their colouring change as they get a older? I was really REALLY hoping for a nice lemon one but she/he just looks like she'llbe buff to me :(

that has made me so happy! I always wanted a barred/cuckoo! The nearest ones to me were 40/50 mile away so I was pretty sad I couldnt get one. And I just accidentally bought one from 5mile away as a friend for the lemon one. Haha, talk about luck!
I'm from England so I believe we call them Pekins. I couldnt find anywhere that said they are different breeds. I'm glad you said that though because I was a little doubtful about the yellow one. Do you think the little yellow one will be Lemon coloured though?
