Having a cuppa in the garden with the ducklings;   I adore it when they have their "ballerina stretch" but I think Pikkle is taking this a bit far lau.gif

We call the "ballerina stretch" duck taichi :) My daughters even gave competition scores to our ducks: the winning movement has to be smooth and long, with an elegant lazy finish.

 

And for the thread start: my mallard-runner hybrid drake use to sleep one head above the ladies (beside them, not really ON them) with balancing on ONE feet (left usually), head is inside his wings, eyes closed, other leg tucked on the side. Like a stork. Is it usual with domestic ducks? Or just the "wild genes"?

My scovies do that... My pekins are probably too fat lol

My Rouen drake will do that - sleep while standing up on one foot!
 

1 Golden Comet, 3 RIR, 3 Black Stars, 5 Buff Cochins, 1 Pekin, 3 Rouen, 7 Call Ducks, 3 Muscovy, 2 Dogs, 2 Cats, 2 Kids...whew!!!

Living in the Beautiful Mountains of Western N.C.. with 16 chickens= EE's, Game, Cochin bantams,Light Brahma,  13Muscovy ducks, 1Embden Gander,1 Toulouse goose, 3 mini Dachshunds, 1 mixed breed, pond goldfish,  and a wonderful Husband who makes it all possible..♥

Wow, thanks, I can sleep tonight - thought it is some sort of "we are wild ducks" kind of thing :)
