different color brown eggs

why are some of my eggs a lighter color brown and some are darker i have white rock chickens . whats up with this is someting wrong with one of them.

Hi, I think that is normal.  My hens each lay a unique color of egg and  it's part of the fun for me being able to tell which of my hens laid each egg.

Also happens when the time the egg spends in the spray booth varies or the paint gun is running low on paint.

I don't get better with age, only more confused(ing).

You may also find that the color will lighten as they near winter. Don't know why. Most slow up on their laying during winter. Maybe they start out the spring with a new supply of paint. I have 4 chickens and I can tell all their eggs apart. So I know who to put in the corner if they are not laying. smile.png
