after many years of work, Bev Davis managed to get the autosomal red out of her Golden Salmon Marans. I don't think anyone with GSM is going to let their precious birds go to just a backyard flock. Might try Bev but expect to put forth a serious breeding program if you want the birds.

Hi,
Was surfing thru this and found these. Now if you get birds remember GSM are in a constant state of development. Usually, usually, the Partridge name is used for birds built on the eb ( Brown) allele. That allele doesn't exist in Marans. It's not uncommon for someone to call a Golden Salmon Marans a Partridge bird, not realizing that ,technically, most people think of that name in regards to the eb allele. While GSM are built on the e+ allele. So this is probably a GSM breeder who is just using a more common and widely used term for the color.
