Duck attacked by Raccoon (Still alive is there hope?)

Thank you I did read your link. Already gave her a shower by the time I read it, hope it doesn't make her worse. She slept good after. She is drinking the clear water better than the "food water"
 
Yes - she has been through a near-death trauma. She is likely in shock.

If there is any way you can get some help, a waterfowl rehabber who is willing to work outside the box, a friend who is a vet or vet tech or who knows someone, I would try to get some help.

And in the meantime, keep doing what you are doing. If she is not ready to give up, I would not, either.

You may at least be able to get some kind of pain relief for her...

Hi Lydia, thanks for asking. I was hand feeding her water mixed with food and cleaning her off daily. She was paralyzed and could not get up. Took her to the vet they said she would not get better and was slowly starving we put her down. ..... Damb Raccoons :-(

I am so sorry to hear this, sounds like it was for the best.

I am so sorry for your loss. You did an amazing job treating her/hand feeding her. You need to be commended for your effort. Not everyone can do what you did and I'm sure she appreciated your care. It's always a tough call to put an animal down but how lucky are they to have the option for us to end their suffering. Hang in.
