I was letting my hens freerange today, I checked on them off and on.

I saw a white feathers everywhere , I went down to check, something had

tore on of hens head off outside the run, feathers were all over.

She was about 50 ft from the coop, where whatever it was left her.

This was about 1:00 or 2:00 pm today. Any ideas what killed her?

I caught a hawk trying to fly off with one of my chickens. I started yelling and he flew off and when my husband when to pick up the chicken the head was missing - not sure but you might watch out for a hawk.
