Ever since we had our india blue male, I have noticed little tiny mites running around his face and hiding in his neck feathers. They are so small he does not seem to notice at all. Can anyone tell me what they are, how do I get rid of them? Thanks smile.png

Chickens are very addicting droolin.gif , everyone here is a chicken addict yippiechickie.gif, people may look at you weird when you tell them, but its way better to be addicted to chickens then all the other stuff out there.............

Mites are not uncommon at all.  To give him relief I would give him a dose of Ivermectin Pour On at the base of the neck and also use a little Sevin dust up on his neck.

Give two drops of Ivomec on the skin under the wings, one on the left and one on the right site.

Treat the perches with an insect repellent make this two times in the year on the wood.

Use a syringe and remove the needle. Use 1 cc Ivermectin pour on for cattle at the base of the neck. Lift up the feathers and place the end of the syringe against the skin and squirt it onto the skin. Half will get absorbed into the feathers and the rest on the skin. Should work for 30 days wink.png

Tractor supply or a feed store

Looks like a great place to start! Just start where you get your feed from big_smile.png
