new little silkies, help! *UPDATED*~pics!

okay, I have 3 little black silkie chicks. Just wanted to ask a few questions to the silkie experts. So, I was looking at them, picking them up and checking for ways to tell the sexes of them and I personally think I have 2 cockerels and 1 pullet. I know you need pics and I will do that tomorrow but from what I can tell 2 have a poof that looks like they almost go back into a triangle or mohawk in the back and 1 has the poof that spreads evenly across from side to side. The 2 that have the mohawk looking looking poof also have the more noticeable turquoise earlobes  and combs, the other one I have to separate the feathers to look for a comb and it's just a little bump. The 2 I suspect are boys are also the larger of the 3. Does it sound like I've guessed right? And for tomorrow when I take pics, what should I take? And I don't know how old they are, I'm guessing 8-10 weeks. They are half the size of my 11 week old BO and I know they are a smaller breed.

Thank you guys and galsjumpy.gif

What you have is not 2 roosters and a hen,but 2 silkie roos and a pure breed silkie.

not that it matters to me because I have no intention of ever breeding them but you mean 1 is pure breed and the other 2 aren't? and so then it won't be the same to tell gender? they have the silkie kind of comb, not the straight single comb if that helps.

there is no telling if they are pure or not without pics and i have no clue why that person would even say that hu.gif they sound pure to me and sound like you are correct on their gender as well. as for pics front pic showing combs and a side pic as well (full body) should work

pic of what I think is cockerel on right and pullet on left

pretty sure this is boy!

 profile shot of same boy

I think this is the other boy, more noticeable comb on him.

I think this is the girl

another comparison between the questionable boy and girl

It was hard for me to get these to upload and keep in order but there are just 3 silkies. They are from auction and were in bad shape and I love them, they are great babies and I am enjoying taking care of them and holding them and hope that they have a better life now. I am probably going to keep all 3 of them unless the 2 boys start fighting if that's what they turn out to be.

Thanks for you time, experience and opinions everyone!

I would say more like 10-12 weeks.

The one you think is a girl has a nice girl beak smile.png I think you are correct.
