Toulouse Geese Thread - Page 273
Is anyone willing to sell me a couple of toulouse goslings? I've had no luck finding any locally on Craigslist or newspaper classifieds. I live in the Oklahoma City area and I'm willing to pay up to $15 per gosling. Sex doesn't matter. I'll even pay for shipping if it's at a reasonable price. The only place I can find them is hatcheries who want between $80-$100 for just 2 goslings when shipping cost is included. I just can't afford those kind of shipping prices. They're such great pets. Please let me know if you're willing to sell me some.
If you were closer and wanted adults I have some. Have you tried Ideal Poultry? They are located in Cameron, TX and don't sell by number of birds but by minimum price, at least for their chickens. I know they have Toulouse geese. Try them... http://www.idealpoultry.com/
They grow really fast and lay lots of eggs but will they make good broodies? Or would it be better to put their eggs under a Muscovy?
I have "production" Toulouse and she is in the process right now of growing her clutch for going broody, She is a great broody wonderful mama too.
I had one African cross Chinese which laid loads of eggs but didn't go broody. She was a bit confused because she was trying to mate with a Muscovy. I mean mate as a male!
Sounds like she needed some serious counseling. lol
