Can you tell me what color these ORPINGTON's R? >>>UPDATE AT 16 WEEKS - Page 13

Looks like splash pullet to me too.  In those pics of your chicks up above. ARe there legs yellow or is that just the lighting?    You need to take some new pictures this week and let us see the progress. I am interested in how the color turns out.

Wow, never thought I'd be thrown into this mess but guess what, here I am.

To her credit she seek'ed me out and told me about the possible rooster issue.

I hatched three out of hers.  He's a link to the thread.

Now I'm very uncertain as to what I have.  I'll just have to play the waiting game, I guess.  I'm very disappointed, but I'm also certain she didn't do it intensionally.

Miss Prissy looking forward to some of your eggs in the fall.

I have black and blue Orps hatch with bellies yellow looking. It feathers out. I have even had a blue silkie hatch this year with white looking head and white looking feet but feathered in blue. My splashes have always been silvery white looking to start with.  The greatest concern would be yellow legs as Orpingtons of any color do not have yellow legs.  Where as Blue Rocks are large and do have yellow legs.   These chicks are mighty cute and may feather in the proper color. It will interesting to see how they turn out. I know lighting in pictures can make colors seem a little different than they are.

The 3 I hatched from WesternChick are more feathered out now.  I believe now that I have 2 blues and a splash.  Leg color is correct too...not yellow.  They appear to me to be blue/splash Orps.  The chicks that Hangin posted do not look like mine really at all.  I wish I could get pics of them to post for everyone to see....barnie

Dutch chic I would LOVE to see photos of your babies.   Anyway, my babies are now a little over 2 weeks old and I will be posting picture tomorrow...I am not on my computer tonight but wanted to throw in an update here for all to check the pictures out tomorrow.  They are beautiful babies and feathering out SO pretty.  Most still have the yellowish legs, the blue boy has a slate/greenish leg coloring.  And one of the blacks has black legs and the other has yellow.  Watch for pics tomorrow!

Have had chickens for a whole six years now!  This year decided to try out ducks too!  WOW messy they are, but totally worth it, their cuteness overpowers all the messes they can make :D  Check them out at:  autumnbreezechickens.blogspot.com

Their legs look awful yellow to me.  My orps at that age have never had yellow legs.
