Cat food and egg laying

Hi all,

I have three Warrens who used to be barn hens until 3-4 months back. After a month, one started laying almost daily, the other two look a lot more healthy, but have produced nothing.

Now I know not to expect much from these girls as they are in the retirement, however if there was anything that I could do to help them fulfil there egg laying potential then that would be nice.

Some, mentioned cat food. Is this a good idea? If so, how high does the protein level need to be? Do I get the little biscuit dry stuff? If so, do I need to soak it?

Any other tips to help these girls on there production skills would be greatly received ;)

Warmly,

Richard

Give them some layer pellets in the mornings. It worked for my hens. Also green food like spinach or alfalfa. I'm not sure about cat food, the verdict's still out on that one.
