Crooked jaw chick

Hello All! I'm pretty new to the chicken thing, so I have been a lurking on the forums! You all have provided lot's of helpful information and wonderful tips. I have a question that I haven't seen addressed though. I have mixed group of chicks as well as 6 older silkie x'. The majority of my chicks are americaunas/easter eggers. Anyways, one of the chicks has a crooked jaw/beak. It looks like she was in a fight and someone broke it. It doesn't seem to bother her and she is getting plenty to eat, but I just wonder if it will effect her in the long run. Her beak is completely criss-crossed, the ends of it do not touch. I'm assuming she is fine, but I worry about her eating later. Thanks for your help.

That is what we call cross beak. It won't heal. Depending on how crossed it gets as it grows, will depend on whether it will have problems. I only had one to which I culled, I didn't have time to make sure it wasn't getting beat up or had enough food to eat. Usually they will scoop it with their beak. They do have a problem with using a regular feeder also, you will have to give a bowl. Their are peeps on here that have had them and have done fine, maybe they will chime in. Good luck.
