cutest chicken names!

Pics
One of my chicks had spraddle legs and has since been named "Band-Aid" by my girls.

Little thing is doing fine now and running with the rest of the crew in the brooder.

We just got six new chicks - 3 RIRs & 3 "Mystery Chicks" from a mixed breed brooder. I am thinking maybe Leghorn?
Anyway, we named them after the Doctor Who companions. Their names are: Amelia Pond, Ace McShane, Sarah Jane Smith, Charley Pollard, River Song & Rose Tyler.

We have two pairs of black silkies. My daughters each named a pair.
Pair 1: Beetlejuice and Mary Poppins (named by the 2-year old)
Pair 2: Damon and Emily (named by the 5-year old)
Our Pekin duck's name is Howard - he's my personal favorite!
We have some younger chicks, but they haven't gotten names yet. Can't wait to see what these girls come up with next!

Ruby seems to be a popular name for the Rhode Island Reds. I have an RIR named Ruby and one named Lucy. My Australorp I called Kiwi, and my Easter Egger is named Bonnie.

I have four new chicks, a Buff Orpington - Goldie; a Cuckoo Maran - Paris (aka Spaz); an Austra White - Sydney; and a Salmon Faverolles - Belle.

We just got a RIR at a feed store and her name is: Ginger

and we have:

Nella-naked neck
Nancy-naked neck
Snowflake- barred bantam cochin
Casper- White bantam cochin
and a Black star named- Ebony.

I let my 4 year old son help out with the naming. Last year it resulted in Tank, Jaws, and Shark. This year we got Cactus, Flames, and Cinnamon Roll.

We also tend to name our ladies (and gents) after TV and movie characters. We had Leonard and Penny (Big Bang Theory). Ricky and Lucy (I love Lucy).

I also like the "old lady" names like Ethel, Gertrude, Winnifred, etc.

Naming chicks is one of my favorite thing to do. This year, I got 2 Russian Orloffs and looked up Russian names...so Olga and Nina are their names. And my Salmon Faverolle is named Fluer since it is a french breed.
