Rather funny thing tonight.

Had a nasty storm go through and knock out the power. My co-worker got sent home early but I was kept back.
Reason why is because I would work and not just stand around like she was doing. Got everything done that needed to be done and got off 30 minutes early.

Brace yourself. When you get a pay raise/promotion because you are a valuable employee, they may get more resentful and jealous.hide.gif

They show their true colors rather regularly. One co-worker I consider a friend was given a supervisor ID number and taught to make change, which is something our floor manager does. Well this set these sore heads off.

Told my friend I was happy for her once I found out. She is a super hard worker.

I am still on probation til October. I was already given a raise about 2 weeks after I started. I just don't tell them anything.

Well there were a few ticked off people today.

My bosses made up the new work schedule for the month. I no longer have to work Sundays in the rotation. Only thing I will miss is the extra $25 bonus. Other then that I don't mind.

My schedule was 11-8. I was always having to swap with someone to get that time, well to stop the bickering and fighting over who I was going to swap with they just set my schedule for that time, no more swapping.

One new girl asked why they did that. Told her I didn't know and said nothing else.

Having to work in and industry that provides customer service, the work environment is like that.  Always has been, always will be.  It sucks for those, like you, that honor the position given and do your job.  Someone will get fired, they will find another person to accept a low wage, and the drama starts all over.

My advice to you is to develop a thick skin at work and continue to vent here.

Thanks Deb that is what I am doing.

Crazy morning. I got to work today. It is an 8-4 shift. I like to get there at least 15 minutes early so I can get the produce flaps down and everything done that needs to be done. Well other then the co-worker who works in the bakery no one is there. I wait til 8:30 and then call the store manager, Owners are out of town. Manager comes down and tries to find someone to come in. One said she would then called back and said she couldn't because this was her only day off til Thursday.

My friend called in later and came in. She missed the first call.

Found out because she was not there for the 8 hours she wouldn't get the $25 bonus. Going to talk to my boss about giving her mine. She didn't have to come in but I was sure glad she did.

Another reason to not smoke.

Had a customer come in yesterday and buy a pack of cigerettes. Paid with a silver dollar and a couple half dollars. Since I love old coins I got them in change for my purchases at the end of the shift. Didn't think too much of it til later.

Showed them to DH and he showed the silver dollar to a couple guys he knows. One who knows alot about old coins. Turns out this silver dollar is in mint condition. Is called the pegleg and was removed from it's protective case to buy a pack of smokes.

I'm going to get a case for it and put it back in to protect it.

I hate when a decent job stinks because of horrible co-workers. I'm an EMT right now while I'm applying to vet schools and the job itself is not bad. The pay is even pretty decent. But being forced to ride in an amblance for 12 hours with a horrible partner is absolute torture. Sometimes I feel like putting a cheese grater to my face would be less painful! The only reason I don't leave is because I want to wait until I find out whether or not I get accepted to vet school.

Don't do that chickerdoodle you may have to be treated by the person who drives you crazy!

Just doing what my boss told me and I ignore them. Doing something to drive them crazy. I do mundane conversations with my frind that are so boring even she gives me looks. Talked wit her last night after closing and told her what I was doing and she got a big kick out of it. We had a good talk last night too.

When one of these people are gone you can feel a different energy in the store. Had one gone for over a week and everything was great. Nice and calm. Now they are back and we could feel the stress again. I just stayed away from her.

They are not going to be happy. I asked for the days off for chaparoning a canoe trip. Bosses have no problem. I know several are going to be mad because they are going to have to cover my shift. My bosses knew about my EMT training hours and such before I started.
