Accidental Red Sex-links

Thread Starter

So, I was just wondering, it is an RIR hen and a White Rock that make a Red Sex-link. I have a broody hen who's eggs are due to hatch in a few days. The mom is a Rhode Island and the dad is a white Rock. It just occurred to me that that is what makes a Red Sex-link. Just thought I'd check with BYC.

I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1  Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner laying on 8 eggs.

That is the opposite of a red sexlink.

Red Sex Link= Red rooster over Silver based hen.

Your cross is more like a Amberlink or Indian River.

Plus, one doesn't know for sure that any particular White Rock is silver anyhow.
