Tell me a bit on how you do this.. Selling ducks from home

I don't mean how/where you post your ads as that will vary on what you have access to and where you live. I mean the actual method you use.

People will have to come to my home, i sold my last drake by trade so i took him and picked up my new babies(big_smile.png) but for the rest of them, that will bring someone to  my home.

I figured i would bring the 'for sale' birds out the front? i don't want people in the back where i keep my birds... for many reasons. This is logical right?

I'm rural so i have plenty of land in front of my property and you cannot see where my livestock is kept unless one goes around the side/back.

Just trying to get a feel for how others do this.. i still have 6 to sell so it could involve quite a few visits.

ETA; Meeting up elsewhere would be illogical, as fuel costs are high here.

I also bring my birds to the front of the house.  I figure if I put in the ad that I'm going to catch the birds I'll be more likely to sell them (we played catch the chicken at someone's house once and that was enough)  I put them in a pet carrier or pen, and then the people that come can put them in their own boxes.  I also try not to give out my address until I have a time for the person to come.   Then it is more likely that they will actually make it, and I don't have my address floating around out in internet land . . .

I think it is completely logical not to want people wandering over your property -- if they have birds they could be bringing diseases onto your place for one thing.

I just sold 3 bantam chickens and when I posted on Craigslist I stated that I had a closed flock and noone could come to my home and hope everyone understood, then when the person called we made arrangements to meet that was good for us both.

due to bio security reasons NO ONE but us enter any fenced in area. We have holding cages and pens we can use for the birds that are available. We also have the entire front fenced in and can have the older geese in that area for viewing.

Around here it could be tricky since i'm in the country, plus fuel is so pricey.

Ok, good wording.. i have plenty of room out the front of my property and many 'play pens' that I could bring 'round to put the babies in.
