Mystery Ducks any ideas?

I found an ad on Craigslist the other day for muscovy ducks real cheap. I got 8 for $2 each. Well as soon as I saw them I knew they weren't muscovies, but I have no idea what they are. I've looked at all kinds of pics on the net but nothing that really looks like them. I've looked at alot of pics of moulards as well and haven't seen any that look like these. I'm not sure how old they are, but they are smaller than my pekin that were hatched this spring. If they are mules or hinnies that is fine, we will just eat all of them instead of keeping a few back for breeders.

They were filthy and smelled like poo so I put them straight into the pond when I got them home. They were also very hungry.
 
great price. not muscovy. They may be swedish cross maybe pekin crosses. Hard to say for sure but that is a deal for a grown duck. What are you planning on feeding them?
 
Yeah, I couldn't pass up on the deal, even if they aren't what they are suppoused to be. So do you think they may be crossed with muscovy or just some other cross? Right now we put out poultry layer pellets and scratch grains, they have completely cleaned out all the duck weed and there is only a few frogs and fish left in the pond. I let them free range the backyard so here pretty soon they will have eaten all the bugs and clipped the grass down pretty short. I haven't seen any "duck feed" when I go to the feed store, but ducks are listed on the bag of layer pellets. I know they are suppoused to have more protein in their diet than chickens, right? They really love the fish so I will prob. go buy a few dozen more for the pond.

I know they are suppoused to have more protein in their diet than chickens, right? Not sure on protein but they do need more Niacin than ducks. Do you have flock raiser in your area? I would advise it and oyster shells.

I know I can get oyster shell, I'm not sure about flock raiser but I'm sure I can get it at one of the local feed shops.

It seems I may have to hang on to the ducks and a drake and see if I can get some fertile eggs in the spring. I haven't tried to sex any of them but based on their different quacks I'm pretty sure it's a 50/50 mix of males and females.
 
So I can get flock raiser from 2 of my 3 local feed stores. Looked at the descriptions for the diff poultry feeds I can get. Flock Raiser is 20% protien, chick feed 20% grower/finisher is 15% and layer is 16%. Flock Raiser and chick feed are almost exactly the same.
So far they are all doing great and have cleaned up nicely since they have access to ponds and kiddie pools here. My 3 pekin have adopted them. It seems that the pekin herd them around and keep look out for them. The pekin are almost always on the outer edges of the flock and when the big female pekin says it's time to move they all move.
 
Cool, I'm thinking they do walk a little more up-right than my pekin. I will have to get a pic of them out of the water. Also, I'm not sure if it's the age or the breed but they are smaller than the pekin and they seem to have a larger wing span.
