26 weeks and NO eggs!

I have 2 EE'ers the same age. They are 26 weeks. One has been laying eggs for about3 weeks the other has not layed the first egg.  She is not squating too.  Is it possible I have a pullet that is sterile?

Probably just a late bloomer. Mine are 24 weeks old and only 1 of my 5 hens are laying. She's a production red, my other red looks like she could start any day but my 3 buff orpington hens look like they could quite possibly be weeks away from a first egg.

Thanks Domestic Diva.  I hope that is the answer.  She follows my other EEer in the coop when she is laying but just kind of hangs out until she is done. LOL.

I have three EE's and none of them started laying before 28 weeks. I was going crazy because all the other girls in our flock were laying. But they all lay colored eggs (2 blue, 1 green) and their yolks are HUGE. Hang in there!

My present EE started at 18 weeks 5 days & has laid 3 beautiful eggs since Saturday.

My EEs started at 24, 26, and 32 weeks if I remember right.  32 laid the prettiest baby blue eggs with tiny white specks -- so worth the wait.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I have 2 Ameraucana's (a buff and a blue wheaten) that are nearly 28 weeks and NOTHING yet...no squatting, no pinking up of the combs..NADA barnie.gif I have quite a few others who are not laying yet as well and they range from 25-28 weeks. My Speckled Sussex doesn't show ANY signs of laying soon either, but she's one of the babies at only 26 weeks (only LOL).  Suprisingly, my first one to lay was my Ancona, followed nearly 2 weeks later by my Buff Orpington.

I'm trying to be patient, but I want those blue eggs SOOO bad!

ETA: adjusted age of chickens...they're older than originally thought so they better get to it!
