"Dry Stall" product for chicken runs?

After 8 inches of rain in 36 hours, the floor of my run is stinky and wet for the first time.  I don't want my birds getting sick, so I feel like I need to do something to it (it is just dirt at this point).  Is Dry Stall safe or is there something else I can use?  Thank you!

From all I have been learning, PDZ (zeolite) is the absolute best for stink control.  Under my roosts it is working great, like the best kitty litter ever, especially because chickens don't "pee".  :)

What about in an open area?  The run of our chicken tractor (stationary for now) is covered but still can get damp during rains.  How will the zeolite hold up in an outdoor area like this?

How about a combination of sand and zeolite?  My run is really like a building with a good bit of overhang.  I have about 3 to 4 inches of sand all around and then zeolite under the roost.

Here is another thread with the discussion about StallDry versus PDZ.  I think AmenFarm puts it on the floor (my PDZ is just under my roost.   I like the idea of sand and PDZ mix....not quite so cost-prohibitive, I would think.   PDZ is volcanic rock so it does get wet, hold water/liquid and then dries out.  It's not going to be like less porous sand that just get wet experiorly on the sand grains, but folks use PDZ in horse stalls...and when they pass urine, they really pass urine!   I think that Amen farm in the following thread would be the person to ask.  I'm also interested in her answer.

We use sweet PDZ and love it.  We're in quite an arid climate however, so I'm not sure what it would do for lots of rain.  Mostly I use it in the coop...mix it with DE and sprinkle over the bedding.  Our coop/run is moveable and we do so every few days..that way they always have grass underfoot and what rain we do get doesn't make a muddy mess.
