Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread - Page 107

Per the question about promising Spring eggs from chickens that aren't even in existence yet, nope!  I'm afraid to offer so far ahead, at least for now, so it's still PayPal for me.  I always send it as a gift and so far have had no complaints.  wink.png

Thanks for letting me know, I was trying to send enough to cover the fee, not trying to be a pain.

I know how that goes with the disputes and recourse. On my statement for the $15.62 they charged .75 Don't know why BUT, it's good. Just thought I would share. Never could figure out their fees anyway. lol It wasn't from you Overoberyl. big_smile.png

Paypal fees are 2.9% plus $0.30.  That would be $0.74 if you send $15 or $0.75 if you send $15.62.  So you guys are paying lower fees than me?  I bet the fee structure is determined by what type of Paypal account you have.  Mine is a business account.  I would rather pay the fee to keep my option of recourse open.  To me it's no big deal.  I'm used to paying the fee on every Paypal I've ever received, well until last week.  I stared at that "gift" for a few mintues trying to figure out why no fee was taken.

The fee is not 4% it is 2.9% + a .30 per transaction fee.  I also know that the fee is ALWAY the sellers and paypal in your agreement says you are NOT to charge the buyer the fee hmm.png  To me it is the cost of doing business.

Some are saying that they are sending $15.62 for their PP. Easiest way to do it is to send the $15 as a gift. The more you send as a payment without sending as a gift the more they take out. When you send $15.62 they take out .75 so it leaves under the $15.

Just trying to help out. hide.gif   wink.png

Sorry.  I have been sending as gift but there was a discussion about rules on paypal sales.  I will just stick to gift.

Since in this case there really isn't a seller/buyer then I think trying to figure out who is responsible for the fees is going to be frustrating. I understand that we all need $$ but trying to figure out $0.10 seems like a waste. I think if you are worried about 10 cents then maybe you shouldn't take the paypal offered. There are plenty of other good quality eggs out there. Nobody makes anyone take paypal. :)

I though it used to be 3.5% or 3.9% no transaction fee, and was based on the amount of $ exchanged...so must have changed since the last time I read it that way or I was confused. If $15.75 will cover it, I will send that from now on. You guys know my stance has been from the beginning that I don't think the buyer should be responsible for the fees, I'm just trying to be a good swapper, but because I do send a lot of pp's, going much over the required amount would really add up for me.

If I say $15 that is what I send. I also don't expect anyone else to send anything more than what is offered.
