Haha, this thread is still alive!
I have two fluffy ol' show silkies right now and one white pet silkie. They are all fixing to get a coop of their own, too.

I am new to the website. This is Ash he or she is about 7 weeks old. Starting to fill out nicely.

I got them from my local feed store. My husband and I were going in to see when they were going to have chickens in stock. They only had turkey at that time in October. Well, I wanted to see them. I got back there and there were 5 or 6 tiny babies in there with the turkeys. I asked him what they were. He said that they were silkies(which I had always wanted)! I asked him if they were for sale, because he said he was chicken sitting for his sister. He said "ONLY to CRAZY people!" I laughed and said how much......long story short I got two of the silkies for $30. He still calls me crazy lady to this day. I'm just glad that I know for sure that I have a boy and girl so that I can breed them. Love them to death, such sweeties!
