Hi! Glad you can join me!

.You will have fun... and we will be here to answer what we can. Sure others willl join as we go.Remember No question is dumb.Basically keep you bator in the least active  spot you can. If you dont have a Brinsea or Geneisis that auto regulates the temp  then find a really evenly heated /cooled spot to set it up. I have mine in my closet.Really helped.

What kind of eggs are you hatching?

What kind of a bator do you have?

Oh i just spoke to you on your thread about being new!!Hi again.

.Everyones very nervous at first .and frankly later at lockdown everyone is nervous then too even  long AFTER your first hatch HAHA

BUT its exciting and fun and like a miracle when that first egg hatches and a REAL live chick comes out. You feel like a little god...hatching an egg to a living breathing thing.NO wonder its VERY addicting!!!

Oh and 2 bators ...believe me if u get into it (and i know you will we all do) you will need a second  ne later for lock down  on one hatch when another is stilll on day 9 lets say and needs less humidity than lockdown humidity.and GOOD LUCK!!frow.gif

I know, I can already tell from other posts that it is addicting!  If I had done more reading before ordering my eggs I probably would have tried to get some locally for my first hatch, but in any case, I'm getting blue Ameraucanas, I know the hatch rate on shipped eggs is not good so I'm just hoping for a couple. I've just decided to do the best I can and if I have to try again, I will!  I'm in South Florida and have been stranded in my house for a couple of days due to flooding on my driveway and my street, but I waded through 12 inches of water yesterday so that I could hitch a ride to the feed store and get at least ONE incubator set up before the eggs arrive.  Hopefully it will pay off, lol. It will be great to have others setting at the same time, as I'm sure I will have questions!

WOW you are die hard already!!LOL wade in high water to get the incubator.Well the BA's sound pretty. I have never seen them.

You know in Florida the dry hatch could work. One guy lived  there and said he hatched dry in his basement and they were great b/c of the humidity in Florida.

In fact some had to put a dehumdifier to lessen it  Do you have a digital thermometer/ hydrometer? The are pretty nice. Yeah i dont want t o lessen your fun and be ad owner  but boy was i dispointed in shipped eggs at first so if you just figure on getting  a few you should be good. You could get more I  was really shocked and dissapointed in my first hatch.Expected too much from shipped didnt know eitehr .Of course i kept getting themHAHA.
