I am looking for Marans in OR. It does not matter what color I just want them for the rich dark brown eggs. Does anyone have marans or knows someone who has marans close to western OR???

I have one french black copper and one french wheaten. They're both very good layers and mothers, be warned - they're a broody sort! My roo is a gentleman, french blue copper, I wish I could find a new home for him....
I may be making a trip to OR in a couple of weeks, but I don't know for sure if the girls will be laying again at that time. If they are, I could maybe meet you in PDX area....?

Well, it's a tentative trip to Portland. I'd be going to meet a breeder and pick up some pullets / eggs (not Marans) and visit some friends while I'm there... I wasn't really planning on selling the girls, but I'm not attached to them.
Are you more interested in having them? If so, I'd consider bringing them down.
A little about them: I bought them both from a Marans breeder in Auburn WA last October. I de-worm 2x per year and de-louse on occasion, I'd do both prior to delivery. They free range around the farm during the day and go to the coop at night, get all kinds of scraps and treats, along with all-purpose crumble. They enjoy each other's company and usually stay near each other. They recently shared sitting and raising a clutch of chicks! They're good layers, nice dark eggs...

Wow they r pretty!!! When r u coming down??? I would love to buy them!!! How much r they???
I don't know yet, when I'll be in the area. I'm waiting for the other breeder to give me a date to come down. - She said probably 2 weeks, so I'm guessing 6 - 9 October??? (But, I can't guarantee the date, it depends on her....)
