They were a canine-like species, looking like a collie without a tail. They had enhanced their body with cybernetic parts to help them survive on T0 worlds, as after a catastrophe billions of years ago it turned nearly all of the planets they inhabited to T0. It is unknown how they came about, all that is known is that they created a barricade around the center of the galaxy. Very few captains had managed to break through and get to the center. Some of the handfull of captains who managed to get there thought it was because what was there was a threat to their existance. However no one truly knew why they did, and all they could do was theorize.
Civer took a deep breath as he past by the Drex soldiers who were pacing around the door like caged animals, his robotic foot letting out a low "clink" in the hallway every time he took a step. On top of the doorway it read, in ancient Drexian dialog,
These are the gateways to Xerdo
With a final breath, Civer hesitantly pushed the door outwards, turning his head away from what awaited him there.
On the other side of the doorway, there was a room similar to a cathedral, with many ancient pictures of famous Drex commanders among the walls. The floor was made out of cold stone, and in the center of the room was a throne. In the center, was no one, but the Master of All. Civer didn't dare look up as he closed the doors behind him.
"What is the report?" The "Master of All" spoke, his booming voice ricochetting off the walls.
"The attack on Battia was successful, sir," Civer spoke quietly, still holding his head low and not daring to make eye contact.
"Speak up." The master snapped irritatedly.
Civer cleared his throat and said, "the attack on Battia was successful."
"There, that's better." The master spoke, his voice gutteral and dark sounding. "Where is Nakiso?"
"He-" Civer spoke, his voice shaking as he tried to come up with an excuse.
"You let him get away?!" The master yelled scornfully.
"No sir," Civer replied, praying that the master wouldn't destroy him, "w-we didn't know where he was..."
"Enough. We need to figure out something to stop him dead in his tracks." The master spoke, he was clearly still irritated but was much more calm. "The mothership is already on its way to Sol 3, correct?"
"Yes sir," Civer replied.
"Good. You have the supercube with you as well, yes?"
"Yes my lord," Civer replied, holding the glowing blue cube before him. The master levitated it in front of him.
"Perfect. Once we're finished manufacturing that gas we'll use it as a weapon against that Nakiso." The master said, a small smile growing across his face.
