Hi,

Wow, is great to find such an active community of support.

I am converting a wood shed into a coop. It's really quite large, 10x8x7..

I've constructed a box 6 separated nesting areas. I've also lined the perimeter with chx wire. I've also constructed a door and wall frame to either stretch chx wire over or frame in and sheet. I haven't decided which, my thinking is leaning toward framing for insulation, Thoughts? I'd post pics if it'd let me

The idea is to start with 6, then 12 then 18. It'd be great to be able to produce eggs for my family.

Hello, Hope you decide to post some images of your converted shed.  I always find it interesting and seek others knowledge in converting buildings.  I've converted a small barn to house our flock. Soon it will be time to start the winterizing process.

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Welcome from OREGON jumpy.gif  proving heathy eggs for your family is great. My girls give us more eggs than we can eat so my friends & extended family get some as well. They are so much better than the store bought eggs. Good luck on your coop. Try & post some pics
