I swear it's a pheasant?

We recently got a bunch of 5 month old hens from a guy who claimed he got them from a hatchery. There's a whole mix of birds I can't identify, but these 2 in particular I swear aren't chickens! They almost look like pheasants to me, except they have no long tail.

I looked through my Meyer's Hatchery catalog but couldn't find anything that really looked like this. The closest thing I guess would be an Americauna, but these things have really long legs. Their faces and beaks are different too.

What do you think?

Thanks!

That isn't a pheasant! I'm sorry, I can't be very helpful identifying the breed but, it is a chicken. An Old English Game of some sort perhaps. The long legs are puzzling though. Hmmm....

lol, okay, so it's not a pheasant, ha ha. I don't know anything about old english game birds, so I will look them up. Thanks for the lead!

I think she is a black breasted red old english game hen, maybe bantam. The legs are long, but I don't think as long as a modern game hen. We'll see when they grow up!

Thanks everyone, I never had a game hen before. They are quite different.

Look and see if the hatchery has BB Red large Modern Games. That's what she looks like to me.

BTW, BB Red Moderns do have green legs.

I purchased some Sexlinks from the farm and ranch store back in March. I too ended up with a chicken that looks like this only mine has the super long legs and a super long neck. Not as light colored around the neck but, very close. I have not been able to find any chicken online anywhere that resembles my hen. We call her Stretch due to her neck. She is very strange looking and is somewhat skinny too.
