Hello there!
We just started this spring with a purchased Rhode Island Red laying hen (Glenda the good hen) and 2 day-old chicks that are now 26 weeks old. We added one chick a little later that is now 24 weeks. Lucky for us they were all pullets, so now we have 4 beautiful girls. Peep, our silver-laced Wyandotte has been laying for about 2 weeks, Marshmallow, our coronation Sussex, laid 1 egg a week ago (waiting for more), and that leaves the young one, Ava our Welsummer to start laying.
They are such a hoot, and fun to have around, with the bonus of wonderful fresh eggs!
