Depends on what breed you have. The average is just over 20 weeks, but you can get anywhere between 18 and 30 really.

Hi Thanks every one for your valuable advices and support..... i am in Pakistan and here we use 9 or 14 number feed for chicks growth and 13 when they will be ready to lay eggs as per my survey. ... these feeds are very costly.... i would like to make my own organic feed to give my chicks which will be less expensive ... i will share my chicken pics..... also... plz advice... how can i make cheaper feed for my chicks

So, do you let them outside at all? That would be something to see! 250 chickens running all over the place! LOL, that would sure clear out any bug problems!

Proud mom of three daughters, 13 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandsons. (Bantam Cochins-Millie, Calico, Gold Laced etc.)( Blue Orpington hen 75% English) (7/8) English Orpington Splash Hen) (lavender Orpingtons)(Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons)(Polish LF and Bantam)  1(Norwegian Hen) and hoping for some Araucana's to hatch.

I'm from NC myself and this year started raising chickens and well...jumpy.gif chicken math took over and the addiction began! lau.gif I hope you enjoy it as much as I do here...I have met many wonderful friends and learned SOOOO much from many of the pros.
