Polish Chickens!!!!

This is D.J. He was so loving and very curious, he taught the girls how to scratch and peck at the ground when they were just fluffy, little chicks!

We had to give him away, though, we miss him very much. We thought he was a she, until he crowed on my lap (and he had a very cute, squeaky crow. He looked so suprised after that and crowed two more times.) He's at very nice farm now. The farmer isn't going to kill him and D.J is surrounded by a lot of hens and other roosters :)

I have two polish chickens: Buzzcut, a red polish roo, and Einstein, a white crested black polish hen (I know, I know, Einstein is a boy name, but originaly, I thought Einstein was a boy. By the time I got my first egg from her, and had her squatting when I touched her, I knew she was a hen, but the name just stuck! Oh well!) I will try to upload pics.

We just added a Polish Hen to our "Flock" yesterday. Her name is Pom Pom and she is very fast and does not like to be picked up at all! Hopefully she will warm up to us ;)

A dog killed my baby Buzzcut the 25th of September. R.I.P Buzzcut.

Now poor lonely Einstein searches around for her "brother". I feel so sad. I still miss my baby.
