Hi,
My name is Pamela. I am a mom of 3 kids and newly adopted crooked beak Easter Egger named Pico Torcido (which means crooked beak in Spanish) We are trying to raise her as a part house chicken. She is right here by my keyboard trying to peck away at the keys! We thought it would be fun to try to chronicle our experience on Facebook--so look for Pico Torcido (chicken) and like my fan page. We post pictures of Pico everyday and tell the funny things she does. It's just for fun (we are not trying to sell anything) . I am excited to get involved with the Backyard Chicken community. After all--- it takes a chicken lover to understand a chicken lover!!! <3

! Happy you joined us!! Very cool how you have adopted Pico Torcido! Is her beak condition correctable? Sounds like she has a good home!!!
 
Hi! No--it's not correctable. She can eat out of a deep dish of food--but can not forage. I also heard that her beak will continue to grow as she can not 'file' it on rocks like normal chickens--so we will have to clip it with dog nail clippers. :( Hope I can do that when the time comes.)
