Help He Can't Stand?

So I hatched out some eggs I got from Eba. It was hatched in a Mini Incubator. The chick hatched out with its feet forward and cant seem to walk or stand like its brothers & sisters? Is it spraddle legs??? Any way I canhelp him up right? Thanks smile.png

It's not splayed...but he did not get to build up his leg muscles inside the egg. Take a heavy drinking glass..one that is very narrow...like a tall shot glass. Fold a piece of paper towel at the bottom, so it makes a little donut. Put chick down in it with his feet under him in a more correct position. This way it keeps him up right but helps him exercise his legs. Do it for a dat..then see if he can walk..if not do another day and so on. Take it out to feed it and drip its beak in water..... It normally corrects the problem if caught early.

Thanks, I have down it a couple of times now. He seems to be able to partial stand up and walk around. wee.gif

Great. big_smile.png. Chicks with short legs are more suceptable to it. I normally leave them in it for a day or two.

I have a chick that is 11 days old and just started doing this today . She seemed to be walking fine until today.

Odd....what are you feeding it? May need a little vitamins and a.play leg hobbles. May it be because it is just weak...coccidia can make th weak...go off food...stay puffed up with eyes closed.... Treat with Corid.

Feeding them Dumor chick starter. All the others are doing fine.
