Feeding raw soybeans

I've read that it's not ok to feed chickens raw soybeans. However, we live right on the farm and we just harvested the field of soybeans next to the coop. There's no way to keep them from gleaning what is left. Does that mean my chickens are doomed if they discover the beans?

Most likely they won't even eat them.

I've also heard you shouldn't feed it raw as it contains a substance which is slightly poisonous...
