Can you please tell me if this is a Rooster or Hen??

HI I'm just starting out with backyard Chickens as pets and for the great eggs, only thing I don't know if this is a Rooster or Chicken I'm really hoping for a Chicken fl.gifjust gave away the brother Rooster todaysad.png , not allowed to keep them in my area . I have had this pet for 6 months now and no crowing yet. Sorry pic is sideways .

That's a roo. Pointed hackle and saddle feathers. Also looks like he is crowing in that picture.

Married to wife of 18yrs, 19yo and 17yo boys(One EOD in Army, other in HS), Australian Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog mix, 2 dumb cats that hate each other(at least the fighting stopped), 33 chickens

So you know, a chicken can be either a hen or a rooster. Hen is a female chicken and rooster is a male chicken.

No eggs from that boy! He probably wasn't crowing cause his bro was the dominant roo.

totally a rooster you can tell by the tail feathers.
