How to breed Quails ?

I have 18 Coturnix , 3 Males and the others females , including two "Dark British Range." and two " white Coturnix Quails. and one "Tibetan tuxedo" And the rest Japanese Coturnix Quails.
The question is how to breed them ? How to achieve high fertility rate ? what type of incubator to use ? When is the breeding season ?
Any tips will be fine .

If you have enough cage, separate them. Otherwise, just keep them together and hope the best. The best mating time is from Spring through Summer. I have Jumbo Coturnix and will try to hatch some during the coldest month if they is any egg. The reason I want bird that lay during colder month and through out the year. The coldest temp around here is around 13F.

Here is what you need:
1) Brinsea Echo 20 or Hoverbator with or without turn (Brinsea-easy to clean, Hoverbator- styrofoam hard to clean). You can manual turn the whole incubator side-by-side with a thick book or wood block 3 or more times a day for the 1st 14 days. Do not turn the eggs during lock down, which is after 14 days.
2) Fertilized hatching egg. The male/female ratio: 1 male to 2-5 females. Do not incubator new laying egg the 1st 15 days.
3) Incubator temperature 99-101F (Walmart do sale the temperature with humidity monitor)
4) 1-14 day humidity=40%, Lock down after 14 day - humidity 60%.

I do have a big cage so for how many days I separate them ??
What your saying is you can get fertile eggs during the winter ?
And good luck , hope you Hatch a lot of eggs .

Speedy got it right, they'll breed just like Section 8 , they'll do it all day and night long.... I used a homemade bator and it worked fine...

Just move the book from 1 side then move to the opposite side later when you can. It is that simple. There are two other benefit: 1) you don't open the incubator so the temperature very stable and the egg can hatch quicker. 2) Our hand is contaminate with germ and can transfer to the egg in the process, which end up lower hatching rate,
I don't use egg the 1st 15th days from new layer female because the egg not yet develop well in shape and size.

I would wait about 15 days before collect the egg for hatching. I want to hatch egg during winter, but will see if there is any. Hopefully, the 3 bad raccoons show up in my backyard tonight will not get my quails.

Just put half of the water and should be fine. You can use a drinking straw or aquarium air tube through a vent hole on top and refill as need. If you look many of the incubator designs, the water reservoir tend to be in the middle of the incubator for less water movement & tilting.

I have 3 Japanese quails one male and two female. The male is only interested in one of the females as he chases her around trying to mate with her. Those two are the exact same age as each other. We had gotten the female he keeps mating with only yesterday. I'm worried because she tries to get away and flies into the walls, we have more than enough space for them and roof is around 1.60m high, so she doesn't crash into the roof. He doesn't seem to mate with our other female quail Is quite a bit older than he is. He is obsessed with breeding with this one quail and he continues to mate all throughout the day. This is his first breeding season for him, we haven't bred quail before so we don't really know what to do.im probably overreacting but please give some advice I'm not sure if that's normal.
