I just found one of my hens and she is all puffy around her eyes and looks like something in one eye - Pus??  not sure.  She is acting ok, so maybe have caught this at the beginning   No difficulty breathing, etc.  What and how much should I give her.

I use tylan 50 via injection based on weight followed by in the water. Duramyacin is also effective, its mixed into the water. Get all the puss out that you can. Supplemental heat can help as well. And make sure the coop stays as dry as possible.

How much per weight?? I have the water solvable powder. And I have never had to get the pus out of one. What is the best way? I am a nurse so it doesn't bother me but I want to do it the best way. Thanks for all your help

not a problem. 1cc for 5lbs 2cc 10-15lb 3cc 15-25lb 1x a day sub-cu x 4 days is our general rule of thumb. Easiest in the back around the wings. You can drain the puss by running your finger under the eye and along the nasal passage to the nose.

Thanks!!  You have been a great help.  I guessed at the weight and gave 1.5 cc.  Next is the pus - woot!

i rescued a baby turkey (burbon red)  and his sinus's are swollen

i just have one turkey right now

he was in box like an incubator with 3 others

they said that they were in there cause they ere working on a house for all the turkeys

i think that because of the humid conditions in that box he caught this infection

all i have right now is silver shield which we use for infections of all kinds

what is the best solution to give TICK TOCK TOM (that is his name)

How old is he? that would be the factor in the dosing. Duramycin 1 tablespoon per gallon of water would be a good start.
