Anyone have any leads on where to find egg-ready pullets in the Chicagoland area?
We just lost all but one of ours to a raccoon slaughter. After trapping & security improvements we need new tenants. We will get some chicks again next spring, just looking for 2-3 for now to give the sole survivor some company & warmth for the winter. Plus our kids are heartbroken.
Docile, backyard-friendly breeds preferred. Also would like 2012 hatchlings - no old timers. Willing to drive up to an hour or so.
