I have never done this before. How does it work? I am in Camas WA and would like to order Silkie eggs for my son to start his 4-H project.

Is this an auction starting at $1.25? Or a BIN for $1.25 per egg? How much for shipping? Got any pictures of your flock? I might be interested, but we need more info, please?

Price is $1.25 per egg

$1 fee for supplies and driving to the post office
$ priority box for shipping
$ fee for PayPal or can send me a check but will take longer
I can email you photos of a few hens.
[email protected] please put hatching silkie eggs in subject

Any money I get for selling silkie eggs goes towards the silkies feed.

My eggs came today! I recently purchased an incubator. I'm having a competition... my Silkie vs. the incubator. There was one spot left in the incubator and I put the remaining eggs under the Silkie. It may be too many for her... I'll have to see. Thanks for sending eggs! I will post pictures when they hatch. Last time, when I picked up eggs locally, we had 1 of 5 hatch. Fingers crossed for better results this time!

Would love to hear an update! :)

Unfortunately I didn't have any Silkies hatch. Some of them developed, so I know they were fertile. I just don't think my Silkie is very good at hatching chicks. The incubator beat the Silkie and I have 2 Swedish Flowers and 1 Millie Fleur Leghorn. I want to try Silkies one more time (and incubate all or most), but I need to wait until my chicks have grown up a bit.

Don't give up on the silkies. They are trickier to incubate than other breeds, (for me at least, lol) but so worth it. Been trying for two long years and FINALLY have ten beautiful silkie chicks. :D

I'm going to give it one final try in a few months. I'll just incubate the max (7) and maybe give my Silkie 2-3. I'm losing confidence in her, but I know she desperately wants babies. It's really sad that the only chick she hatched had to go, because he was a Roo. I kept him for a couple months. He was a beautiful baby. I'm sure my Silkie is lonely now.
