8 hens = 9 eggs a day?!

So for the past few weeks I have been getting 9 eggs from 8 hens (RSL). Consistently. Is this just a phase too? We have already gone through the double yolker every day phase, which seems to have calmed down now. They are 33 weeks today.

some chickens lay 2 eggs a day, i have a silkie who used to do that
sometimes she still does. and that would be AWESOME if
you had twin baby chickens from one egg! i don't think it would
survive though, normally an egg is meant for only one chicken
