An old prospector shuffled into the town of El Indio, Texas, leading a tired old mule.

The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town, to clear his parched throat.

He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule to the hitch rail.

As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.

The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, "Hey old man, can you dance?"

The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, "No son, I don't dance...never really wanted to"

A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, "Well, you old fool, you're gonna dance now!" and started shooting at the old man's feet.

The old prospector, not wanting to get a toe blown off, started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet.

Everybody standing around was laughing.

When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon.

The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled 12 gauge shotgun and cocked both hammers.

The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air. The crowd stopped laughing immediately.

The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly.

The silence was deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin 12-gauge barrels.

The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man's hands, as he quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ***?"

The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, "No, sir... but....I've always wanted to."

There are a few lessons for all of us here:

Don't be arrogant.
Don't waste ammunition.
Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are.
Always make sure you know who is in control.
And finally...don't screw around with old folks; they didn't get old by being stupid.

yuckyuck.gif I like that! Very funny!

Crazy!  Out of curiousity, what are they going for?  Elk?

Wow, That would be interseting to deal with. We had unwanted people on our property to!

Last night we had to men show up at our door after dark. One with a flashlight, they were asking about the house on the front of our property right off of the street. I talked to them for a few minutes and then asked them to leave. We were not to happy to find out that they had been walking around our property with out us knowing about it and had been looking into my chicken coop and everything after they had been searching the house on the front of the property.

Then today around 12 one of them came back and I really did not like that. Coming back when there is a possibilety that I was home alone or that no one was here! I got my CPL the other day and so I have been carrying which made me feel a lot better. And trust me I made sure he saw what I had. He asked questions like "are you home alone?" to which I said no my BIL is here which was a lie no one was here, then "do you have large dogs?" I said, "yes two very big dogs, great dane and mastiff and they hate strangers on our property". He then was talking about being in some sort of construction and that is why he was asking about the house (lastnight they were asking if it was for sale) but that he was not looking to buy it, as he was telling me that he carried his tools every where with him in his truck he walked over to his truck and opend the back gate (had a canopy on it) which was facing us, to so me his tools, right away I put my hand on my gun and made sure I was not in between him and his truck. He asked if we would want him to do any work on the house for us and I told him to give me his info so I could give it to DH (and the cops if need be) Then I asked him to leave, as he did DH just happend to call and the first thing I said was "hurry write this down" and gave him the license plat number. I also told him the make, moddle, color and year of the truck everything we would need for the cops, again if needed.

This was a very unsettling situation.

There are some breeds that I specifically, really, really want to look at in my backyard, one of each of:

Mottled Cochin Bantamlove.gif

Exchequer Leghorn

German Spitzhauben

Golden Laced Polish

Red Shouldered Yokohama

(ETA): Partridge or Buff Silkie

My issues are 1.) Online Hatcheries never have all the breeds of chicks I want at the same time,  2.) WOW! Shipping.... and 3.) If I get them all at separate times, won't I spend a lot of time with quarantine/flock introductions/other chicken-spaz things? Oh, 4.) Would any of you wonderful chicken peeps know where/who would have this combo???

(ETA): Haha, when I first wanted chicks, there were only 4 kinds I wanted and they are pretty different than the ones I want now lau.gif  is this what is refered to Chicken Math and I don't even have them yet???!

Hallerlake breeds Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, and if the internet is correct then that is what you're looking for.

Thanks TerrorBird!  Just look at his/her page and they are GORGEOUS!  I will be sure to IM Hallerlake when I get home from "work"!

Its been challenging finding all the random birds in one spot, though.  I have no patients for CL anymore...  Half the people aren't even real and DH and I are never on the same page when it comes to picking up something from there...all I hear is "I wanna boat!"  all he hears is "I WANT CHICKENS!"

At least chickens are much cheaper than a boat/ After all the definition of a boat is "A boat is a hole in the water, in which you pour your money into." At least with chickens a person gets eggs, and you can always eat them if you become desperate. gig.gif

Just tell him that you get to spend on chickens what he spends on his boat!lau.gif Gives you a good amout to start off with and then you know there is a never ending amount of money to put into a boat so you will have a steady amout of money to put twards chickens.gig.gif

It is pizza crust, well breadsticks, made from cauliflower!!  I HATE CAULIFLOWER!  But this was sooooo dang good!  And amazingly filling lol, lots of fiber, haha!  Everybody was eating it like om-nom-nom

My sister sent me that recipe, and I showed it to DH and he turned up his nose big time.

I have been making Pamela's Pizza crust on the Pizza Pizzaz and it turned out fantastic...probably work better in an oven.

The mix comes in a big bag: Pamela's Bread Mix & is yummy !!!

The table was turning so a bit blurry.

You have to add yeast to this mix to make the crust...and let it rest for an hour...and boy did it ever poof up nice !!!

I make it on a parchment circle, and halfway through cooking I take the parchment out to allow more moisture to escape.

Still....it would be awesome to buy a GF "Boboli" type crust off the rack.

Aren't you required to pay it all back upon your death ?

And that the surviving spouse does not have to pay it until their death ?

In other words either your kids have to pay it (plus inheritance tax) OR your estate must be sold to repay all the taxes you did not pay all those years you got the """discount ?"""

That conversation on the Breeds and Genetics area. It's a continuation of a conversation I started which has vanished for some reason.
That thread seems to be about getting black spangles on a blue bird. I want blue spangles on a white (or possibly chamois) bird.

Ooops. Sorry. the original thread went off into that discussion, but for some reason it's gone. Blue spangles on chamois with be a dilution of black on red/gold but the genetics of that is beyond me.

The beautiful home next door sitting empty for a year now has been vandalized for everything..plumbing, doors, washer/dryer/fridge/cabinets, some windows, pump/pressure tanks. you name it.

People were stealing from there before in between moves the owner was making in between here & Chehalis.

It is full of rats & mice & possums & feral cats has reeked all over...it is worthless now & will have to be bulldozed.

What on earth was the bank thinking ?

Look at the money they have lost !
