Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My chickens will barely let me touch them. We like each other at a distance.

That's how my easter eggers are. I miss my ameraucana who would just do their thing, but if I sat down outside would come and sit with me for a bit. My first hand reared EEs were mostly like that as well. The last one died last year. She'd invite herself into the house to steal dog and cat food.

This is Leven's 2nd time growing spurs to this length. They got pulled off before. The spiral is because of his silkie genes.

Good morning !!! Had the craziest dream last night just had to tell you call cuz only you guys would understand.

Okay so in my dream I was out feeding the chicken when I all of a sudden noticed that there was a new chicken run next to my run but it was empty... so i continued to open up my coops and feed the chickens when there was a noise behind me and there were all kinds of chickens and peeps in the other run making a fuss. I said to my self someone needs to get over there and feed these chickens!!! I looked around and no on else was around so I went to the other gate and opened it and ALL the chickens ran from the other run into my run and then the other run disappeared !!!! There were chickens and peeps & pullets you name it every where!!!

Then I woke up JUMPED out of bed to check on my girls and to make sure there were no extra chickens out there!!! Just had my first CHICKEN NIGHTMARE !!! Chicken math has officially invaded my dreams!!!!

Wow, that's a lot of birds to lose in one year. I hate losing one.

I have the door open during the afternoons for the chicks to come outside. So far they are not interested in leaving their safe space. All the plastic is down from the outdoor portion of the coop so they can see out and they are not even sure about that. lol
