Is your county pretty tough on codes?

Our county is pretty easy..... There are no codes!  Unless you live in Moberly then the codes are strict!

We don't even have to have a building permit in the county.

Very hard. It is one of the reasons I am making it like I am. Heck I am dead in the water now. The county building inspector did not sign off on the final electrical because the main disconnect was not labeled.. I can not proceed further until he reinspects Monday.

Bantam Cochins in Black, Birchen, Columbian and Buff Columbian. Now also have Sliver Penciled and Partridge. Working on a Silver Laced Project. Gold Laced project, and now a few White and White Frizzle.

When you put the sheet rock up, are you going to use the blue stuff that is used in bathrooms? I think it is supoost to be better for moisture. I would think you may want to be able to hose it out from time to time.

That will be one fine chicken house or if you get out of chickens, maybe a mother-in-law cottage. LOL

Fine Chickens require a worthy home. I felt I could do a much better job of conditioning and caring for them in a better building.

I try to raise and show good quality Bantam Cochins.  I was able to do OK with a building with 4' outer walls but as I get older it is harder to clean the old building. Will probably use the old one for chick grow out. I doubt I get out of chickens but may cut back on the number of varieties sometime in the future.

That Sucks!  I wish you luck on Monday!   You are doing an exceptional job.  Maybe someday I will be able to make it up there for a visit when it's finished.

I am a cochin lover! I love their fluffy butts and feathered feet! They are the sweetest of all chickens.  I have mottled, columbian and buff columbian. I have mostley bantam but do have large fowl for the eggs.

My neighbors showed up early one morning when they heard I needed to split and move my shed from the building site. I had done some prep prior cutting nails and removed the roof cap.. In less than 1 hour we had this split , pulled to the new location, and pulled back together so birds would be safe until I get the new building completed. Was hoping to be in by Thanksgiving but it will be more like before Christmas. Yes I did move it with the birds still in their cages. No one drop of water was spilled. Each half of the old shed is 10' x 24' so it was not a small job.

The drywall got hung yesterday. It now looks semi finished but now also seems smaller. Lots of work left to go that won't show. This makes me feel we can get it finished enough to move birds in before the extreme cold hits next month. Insulating the roof, finishing the drywall, painting, waterproof panels over the lower drywall, finish the electric, install ventilation and filters, and lots of pen building still to go.
