WHAT AGE COULD THEY FLY

Interesting. If the birds being sold are actually from that same strain (with no other crossing what-so-ever) that you've provided in the link, I don't think rjf has any idea what he's getting himself into if he gets them. For sure, they will exceed his flight expectations. Good luck on the birds when you get them Mark HSV-AL, and show us some pictures too if you'd like.

The thee trios were shipped in last week and after turning them loose in my flight pen I was very impressed with their "wildness". I decided it was best to just open the box and let them go because every time I tried to hold one the feathers would come out everywhere and they would go completely nuts trying to get away as well as the ones still in the box were going crazy trying to get out. They wont let you get close to them, they explode off of the ground if you get within 20ft of them in a corner and fly quickly across the pen (135' x 85') without slowing down. In short, they do everything they can to avoid you like they predator that they think you are.

They are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY unlike any domesticated chicken you will find except in coloration. Also, they have a somewhat horizontal line instead of standing upright like a chicken and they really remind me of a pheasant in their mannerisms.
So, I ordered another 3 Trio's Monday and got them in today and they are just as wild as the first group. Are these birds 100% pure without any influx of domestic gene? I have no idea and without a DNA test I am sure it would be incredibly difficult to tell the difference. With that being said, they exhibit all of the characteristics of a wild red junglefowl so I'm pleased with them.

Some of the birds are missing or have broken feathers where they were caught to put in the shipping box so after they have time to calm down and groom themselves properly I will do my best to get some pictures of them. What I would really like to do is to post video of their flightiness.

Thanks for the update. You are describing exactly what the true specimens are supposed to do (fright and flight) and they could very well be 100%. I recommend you give them lots of bushes to hide. Hopefully you can get some nice close-up pictures/videos and I can't wait to see it!
