Poop sticking to vent area is called pasty butt NOT coccidiosis. Soak their butt in warm water with lots of Epsom salt. Gently work the poop off their butt. Apply vegetable oil or Vaseline after to prevent future sticking.

I had the same problem with one of my chicks. Instead of sitting her in water or running water over her bottom, I chose to soak a wash rag with warm water and held it to her bottom for about 5-10 minutes. This allowed the clump to soften without stressing the chick too much and was easy to gently wipe away. She was so content afterward she fell asleep in my hands while I was drying her bottom.

I gave my chicks some ACV in their drink water and I haven't had pasty butt since. And I've never had such happy, healthy chicks! You can apply some vaseline or olive oil to their bums to help prevent a come back if they already got it. And try the ACV, it really works! I mixed 4-5 table spoons with a gallon water and gave some to all my chickens.
I am very curious as to know what ACV is? I am a newbie, so I do not know what that is yet. ❤️
