Lapay, WOW awesome I'm still waiting, up to 7 eggs now, and the bator will be here said on the 4th. Thats ok gives me more time to collect more eggs, course some may not hatch due to age, but I'm turning the eggs and keep them moving and still at room temp so we will see.

Candyman, what differences are you seeing in your eggs from momma and bator?

katsdar the eggs under the hen are different in a way that I can see a mass inside, light wont pass completely, just like my incubator ones, but I could not see any veins and neither was there any activity inside, but the incubator ones had lost of activity.

awesome Lapaysanne, I loved that feeling when I saw mine moving... I wanted to hold them all day and look at them

Hi Candyman,

Seems like your hen needs lessons from you, great job, but it may take a little longer due to your cooler temps, put some fresh straw in her box maybe that will help raise the temp.

I am so mad at myself! I had steady temps in the bator for 4 days...I got all my eggs in the bator this morning and left them for a few hours to get groceries and when I got back the temp was at like 106! I REALLY hope I didn't just cook them all :'(

Okay, I have my report from candling eggs, and I don't know what to think of it. I was going to take a few pictures, but I took a video instead, and it turned out to be poor quality, and you couldn't see anything anyway. Some of my eggs had definite blood rings, and some were kind of small for day 6-7... I honestly don't know what to think. Some were moving up and down, so I guess that is good.

But they all seemed too small... I don't know. When I got them from the farmer, they were covered in poop, and were cold, so when I stuck them in the incubator, they started to sweat, and poop was kind of smudging... I'm surprised that any lived at all. xD What do you guys think? Some of them look like they are at day four, and some of them look like they are at day 6. >.> Maybe it is because they were cold before I put them in the incubator, and only started to heat up at day two or three, thus holding up the developing process for some who were older or newer? Maybe the ones who were left out in the cold longer started to develop later than the ones that were laid later. I wonder if they will hatch on the same day...? It's just a guess. Maybe some died, and just haven't formed a blood ring?
