I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner, currently it is against PTC ordinances to own any poultry on any residential lot regardless of size.  If you'd like to get involved with changing that, please read through this thread including the latest post.  There's contact information and opportunities to make yourself heard.

Update!

I just wanted to remind you about this incorrect date redacted (time change) pm at the Wydham Hotel in Peachtree City.  If you want to find out how you will be represented, this is the forum to attend.

This is the Q&A with those running for office in the PTC November elections.

Hi everyone! Was wondering if they have changed the laws in ptc for backyard chickens as of April 2014?

All I have to say is watch Food Inc. and you will then change your mind on even stepping foot in a grocery store. I vote for the change due to wanting to eat healthy and to show our kids where our food comes from and how to take care of another living creature.  Thank you so much for the fight. If you need anything just let me know.

Thanks,

Please, can you tell me if the law change in Peachtree city about backyard chickes as on February 2016?

Hi Scrappymj, As far as I know the law has not changed. Peachtree City residents are still not allowed to own chickens, I do know there are more chicken owners here compared to a couple of years ago. A friend of mine came across 5 hens hens along a cart path near the library. Which I find funny.

I do t understand why the laws are so difficult to change.? Why were they enforced? What can we do to change this? I live in powder springs ga and new law just passed in Cobb county. 5000 square feet per bird I believe. That seems outrageous still, but supposedly a win for us.
