A bolt is a good choice or a single shot even until she feels safe with it.
Someone posted a picture of a chicken ( a very cute picture) and said later it was a Cream legbar.
I actually quoted the British SOP's to them and said it was not a Cream Legbar because of the rose comb.
I did not call it a creamette though, I think I am ready to try a Cream legbar thread again, NOT!
do not make fun of me, until you have felt the pain of losing the K off your pink at least once!
Alas! Out eagle/unknown aerial predator has returned and claimed a Wyandotte this time she was out in the open, probably didn't stand a chance it breaks my heart. The conversation with DW went like this:
DW: that d***ed eagle was back
Me: poor chicken
DW: I'm so made I want to shoot it!
Me: but that is illegal
DW: so what it ate my lovely hen!
Me: you have never even held a gun before
DW: I could learn
Me: does this mean I can buy a shotgun?
Apparently that was the wrong answer. The girls will be locked up the next few days again, supposed to be cold and wet anyhow. The girls can enjoy there covered runs now
Sigh... I know it's part of chicken keeping but still...
Oh and on top of that, today I learned my coworker who I've been working elbow to elbow with for 5 years took a new position so will be leaving me in a couple weeks. So it was a stressful day to start with
I had same conversation in my head. My critters or brother Eagle. I revere it as part of my heritage. But my critters.... I dunno. Just saying. Shot gun handy.....
I didn't say that out loud did I?
Oh God Kloppers. This gave me tears I was laughing so hard. Of course you could come up here, I make a mean venison stew and there is a guest bedroom....with a view of free ranging chickens no less. I also have an extra 12 gauge for sale. shhhh don't tell DH. aka the hoarder.
First the L,....now the K?!? What's next to go on that keyboard?
I'm eyeballing DS's .410 or 20 GA to expand the horizons.
Tannerite? To start Klopper's wife on? Uff-dah...it's loud. Start with a nice .22 and a nice plinking beer can or 6. Although there's a lot of satisfaction with the tannerite.
Teach me to be a chicken snob The guy claimed in no uncertain terms it is a Cream Legbar...
either way it is a great photo.
