I don't need any but I like to be prepared just in case.

For a topical antibiotic, many folks swear by Nu Stock ointment. It's hard to find in stores, so just get some on the internet. Also, putting unpasteurized apple cider vinegar in your chickens' water can help keep other nasties at bay internally.

Bulldogma, I think it's great that you started this thread. The title will help those who are looking for a more natural approach to keeping chickens, I believe, that might never have explored the Road Less Traveled thread. I hope those of us who have been following Bee will share what we've learned with others here who may have questions. Even though I didn't post much, I followed her threads (The Road less Traveled and The Old-Timer's THread) from the beginning. We owe it to Bee to share what we've learned.

Thanks! that's a great blog I will have to keep an eye on!!!! I do make my own salve I have been using (very different though!) I use bees wax, herbs, olive oil,and essential oils but I may have to make some from that recipe.
