After all my research and talking to friends with chickens i decided on a 4x8 coop.  I built it roughly 2.5' off the ground and put at 28' porch on the front to give the girls plenty of dry space in the rainy summer months here in Florida.  im not 100% done with the coop yet and have not even started on the run.  Here are some pics of the progress.

Your coop looks great! I really wanted to build my own but don't have the skills you have. Keep us posted with your progress, please. I love looking at home-built coops :D

Happy chickens to us all!

Finally had some time to finish the coop and run. Planning to get my chickens this coming Saturday. Only thing I have left to build is the roost inside the coop and some sort if roost outside for them but that won't be hard at all. He is how it looks

I will post more pictures once I get the chickens and get the roost made
